Final Product

This is my final magazine cover. Since my draft version I have improved and added certain features which have ensured my magazine conforms to the codes and conventions. Things which have been added are an URL, date and price which I completely missed off my draft. Since my draft I have also added two more cover lines after spending time looking at other covers in greater detail I realised 4 cover lines weren't really enough and by adding these it also filled in unnecessary negative space.

Since my draft double page spread I have moved the 'Living the dream' and made sure that it is no longer covering up the text from the interview. I have also re-positioned the 'Cobra Lily' so that this isn't covering up text either. Other than that I have kept everything on this and my contents the same as I received positive feedback and didn't feel that any major codes and conventions were missing

Drafting and planning

After recieving feedback on my double page spread I realised that the quote 'Living the dream' was covering up the words on my interview. I am going to move the interview to fit around the quote to fix this error. I am also missing page numbers so I need to add some on when I complete my final version of my double page spread.

This is the original photography of my supporting artist. I am going to have to decide which pictures to use however I am going to use each photo and see which ones prove to be the most effective.

This is a photo of who I am using as my supporting artist. The style and theme of my magazine work together well with the look of the artists I have chosen.

Organisation and planning

This is Hannah who I am going to be using as a supporting artists and these are some pictures which I may or may not be using on my actual magazine. The very first picture is my personal favourite as I feel like it looks most effective and professional.

Organisation

This is the original photography I am using on my magazine. I have tried to achieve a certain alternative pop style. I wanted to go against the codes and conventions of males being dominant. I have therefore used a female artists as the cover star to create an independent role model for younger girls.

Drafting and planning and potential target audience

This is one of my favourite bands the 1975. I really like the style of this band and I think they fit in with the pop/rock genre of my magazine and would fit perfectly with the theme of my magazine overall and also the main cover star.

Drafting and planning

The name of my magazine is connect. I chose this name because when I was researching different words such as link on visual thesaurus I came across the word 'connect' which I felt was appropriate for a music magazine. I have previously tried out various different fonts however I came to the conclusion that I prefered the simple serif fonts rather than the retro and decorative fonts. I like the simpler fonts as the present the minimalistic theme I am aiming for.

Drafting and planning and organisation

I have settled on the name 'Cobra Lily' for my artist. This is going to be my main cover star and there is going to be very similar styling.

I have created this as a brief layout for my cover. This will give me some guidelines of where I want to place everything.

Drafting and planning and potential target audience

In this photo the olsen twins are not in a particularly special location however the photographs are really effective. They achieve the look that I am aiming for so I am going to take this into consideration.

I have been thinking about how I am going to style my model for my cover. I have decided this is the look I am aiming to go for and I have arranged to take photographs on Sunday the 19th of January so that I can begin to compose a draft version of my magazine cover.  This will enable me to materialise my ideas and allow me to see which parts of my cover and double page spread is going to work well and which parts will need to be altered.
